Pebbles Day Nursery is based within the Sixth Form College campus in Farnborough, Hampshire, within easy reach of the A331 and M3.
We are situated in a modern, purpose built building at the front of the college where we can take children from three months until they leave for school after their fourth birthday.
Children are welcomed into our bright and airy entrance where they can store their belongings on their personal coat peg and bag hook. Parents can view the day board to see what activities are planned for the day ahead and there is a large notice board with staff photographs, menus and all our legal bits and pieces.
We have two main playrooms at Pebbles Day Nursery, one for the babies and another for the toddlers and older children.
The smaller baby room is fully equipped to deal with everything the under twos can (quite literally at times) throw at us. With staff ratios of 3:1 it’s a safe and hygienic environment to enable feeding and floor play in one area. Fresh, hand-made food is prepared on the premises and made palatable for whatever stage of weaning your child is at. The baby room has a vast array of bright and colourful learning aids on hand which we vary every day to stimulate and entertain your child from day one. The babies also have their own dedicated sleep room with four full sized comfy cots. The nappy change is also in a separate room allowing changing to be done privately, safely and to protect everyone else’s noses.
The largest room is full of educational and exciting things to choose from; from jigsaw puzzles to Lego to books to having fun with Bob the Builder on our web safe PCs, the children have the freedom to self-select. We even have a snack bar available with fresh fruit and veg on hand to help fuel their imaginations.
We also enjoy getting messy and creative with a wide range of painting, sand, water and other art materials. We’ve even been known to do a bit of baking, sending your child home with a delicious cake or freshly baked bread roll for your tea.
These rooms both lead out to our large covered decking area, allowing for outdoor play all year round. On the decking we have a multitude of activities including a home corner, the opportunity to become a pirate, a princess or even a princess pirate with our ever growing dressing up box, a race track for the budding Jenson Button, a growing area where we like to nurture seeds into fully grown plants, a large climb in sandpit and much more.
We are grateful to have full access to the college’s large fifty acre site, giving us ample opportunity to experience the large grassed field for ball games and wander (fully supervised) through wooded areas.
From our excited scream filled sports days in the summer to our tear jerking carol concerts in the winter you really need to see all we offer year in year out for yourself. Fill in the contact form below and we’ll be in touch!
I cannot fault Pebbles in any way shape or form. My daughter has been going to Pebbles since summer 2014 and she loves it! The staff changes which took place approx 1 year ago have significantly improved the nursery and I think the Ofsted report reflects the hard work and dedication of the staff. All team members are fully engaged and you can genuinely tell they have real affection for the children that attend - my daughter certainly has a soft spot for her key worker. They provide a fun and secure setting for my daughter and provide healthy and nutritious meals, courtesy of their amazing cook with the odd treat when its someones birthday. I also like that the staff consistently keep me up to date with my daughters progress whether that's when I go to collect her or through Tapestry. Nothing is too much trouble even if I'm asking the same questions. I feel involved in my daughters attendance and what is going on whether its an up and coming event such as Sports Day or a quick catch up. I love knowing that my child is happy for the time she is at Pebbles and genuinely feel that she will miss it terribly come September 2016 but I also feel that her readiness to start 'big school' is mostly down to the amazing staff. I genuinely cannot praise the girls there enough. When we were having a few toddler hiccups, my daughters key worker took the time to sit down and discuss some things we could try both at nursery and at home. The improvement although wasn't an overnight fix, the longer term outcome has been extremely positive. If anyone is looking for childcare, I would strongly and highly recommend you make an appointment with the team at Pebbles, you won't regret it and I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done for my child for the past 18 months or so.
